The Youngest Group Program
Our youngest group program is intended specifically for children aged 2.7 to 3.5 years, many of whom are experiencing camp or school for the very first time. Recognizing the unique needs of this age group, we maintain a smaller class size and a slower pace to create a comfortable and supportive environment. Families can choose between a three or five full-day schedule, as well as a five half-day option, offering flexibility to suit each child’s needs. Due to the developmental stage of these young campers, this program does not include swim lessons in our pool, allowing us to focus instead on helping children feel comfortable, safe, and engaged in their new environment.
The Preschool Program
Our preschool program is designed for children who will be 3 years and 5 months by June 1 through age 5. Campers flourish in our Preschool Program, where they enjoy a rich blend of indoor and outdoor play, swimming lessons led by certified lifeguards, and a variety of engaging activities such as woodshop, movement, nature exploration, and art. Each day also includes story time to inspire young imaginations. Full-day campers benefit from a quiet rest period after lunch. Families can choose from flexible enrollment options: 3 or 5 full days, or 5 half days per week. Please note: children must be able to use the bathroom independently.
The Sprout Program (previously known as 5/6 program)
A bridge between Preschool and our Choice Programs, this program is designed for children entering kindergarten and first grade. Campers spend the mornings playing indoors and out with their own lead counselors and have daily swimming lessons with our certified lifeguards. After lunch, the children choose their activities, just as the older campers do, gaining confidence and independence within a structure that supports their individual development. Please note: Sprouts do not go to archery. All other specials are offered, however.
The Choice Program
Our Choice Program for campers in 2nd through 7th grade empowers kids to design their ideal camp day by selecting from a diverse range of activities each morning. Options include, but are not limited to, hands-on art projects, nature exploration, sports and games, drama and dance, archery, swimming, and woodshop, allowing campers to follow their passions and explore new interests. Each day also includes a swim lesson led by certified lifeguards, combining skill-building with fun in the water. This flexible, choice-based approach fosters independence, encourages friendships, and lets campers create a personalized adventure every day.
The CIT Program
Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program for 8th and 9th graders is designed for young leaders eager to build their skills and make a positive impact. Guided by dedicated counselors who support them every step of the way, CITs gain hands-on experience in leadership, teamwork, and community building. They’ll have opportunities to help run activities, work directly with younger campers, and learn the essentials of being a positive role model. Ideal for those who enjoy working with children and have a desire to grow, this program helps CITs develop confidence, responsibility, and lasting friendships. Given the nature of the program, participants must commit to at least 4 weeks. Please contact lrichmond@theschoolinrosevalley.org to submit your application letter.
